As part of this 12DRIVE bike sharing project, Commuters in the City of Achim have had a fleet of 154 bicycles and e-bikes at their disposal since 2022. These can be booked via app and borrowed from bicycle parking garages with integrated charging stations. All parking facilities and locks can be easily opened and closed via an app.
The bike sharing fleet as well as bookings, users and service tickets are managed via the back office system. With the help of the ticket system and task management, system managers and service employees always have an overview of service messages and user feedback. Employees are informed about new tasks and their processing progress via email.
12DRIVE's services include setting up the back office system, providing an interface to the previously existing multimodal mobility platform (MaaS) from AZweiO, training and the installation of bicycle parking garages including charging infrastructure and the provision of the wheels. We also take care of the maintenance and repair of wheels and infrastructure.
As a special feature of this project, we also have digitally integrated bicycle boxes and collection parking facilities at the Achimer train station, which citizens can book for their private bikes. In doing so, we are facilitating sustainable mobility in Achim in a second way. The example shows that private bicycle use and bike sharing are not in competition with each other, but complement each other perfectly at best.
